Marcus Rashford has no intentions of securing a return to his parent club, Manchester United, and wants to continue at Barcelona.
According to Sport via SportWitness, Marcus Rashford has no future at Manchester United. The English international has no interest in securing a return to Old Trafford. He would prefer to continue at Barcelona, where he has been doing wonders since the start of the season.
After falling out with Ruben Amorim and losing his place in the team, Rashford had a short six-month stint at Aston Villa before moving to Barcelona ahead of the ongoing campaign. The English international has joined the Catalan giants on a season-long loan deal.
The 28-year-old is certainly enjoying his time under Hansi Flick. He is slowly getting back to his best. So far, he has been involved in 33 games across competitions and has contributed towards 23 goals (10 goals, 13 assists).
The kind of impact he has had in just over 1,900 minutes is unreal. While Flick expects more from the United graduate, he has certainly had an unreal impact on the team.
Rashford doesn’t want an Old Trafford return
Barcelona have the option to secure his services on a permanent basis, and they are seriously pondering it. Despite that, he has been linked with a move back to Old Trafford. Following Ruben Amorim’s sacking at the start of the year, reports suggest Rashford could return.
Michael Carrick, who has taken charge as the caretaker, has done wonders for them. With results improving, Rashford has been linked with a move back. However, it seems the player has no intentions of returning to Old Trafford.
The English international wants to continue at the Catalan club. Flick’s team will look to retain his services at all costs. They are ready to trigger the buy clause if needed, which is believed to be worth around €30 million, and could even look to negotiate a lower fee.
Rashford wants the move to go through and is ready to take a significant pay cut for it. If Barcelona decide against signing him, he won’t return to Old Trafford. The relationship between the two parties is completely broken. The player reportedly lacks faith in their project. If he returns to United, he will start looking for a new club immediately.
