Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich are plotting a raid on Arsenal for the signature of German forward Kai Havertz.
Vincent Kompany already has a star-studded squad at his disposal at Bayern Munich, but he is still keen on adding more firepower to his attack going forward. According to a report from Fichajes, the Belgian manager wants to bring Kai Havertz to Munich.
He considers the German international a perfect fit for his system and has identified him as a priority target for the next summer transfer window.
Havertz made quite a name for himself while playing for Bayer Leverkusen. On the back of his sensational rise, he made the move to Chelsea in the summer of 2020. While he wasn’t consistent enough for the Blues, the 26-year-old did play a big part in their Champions League triumph.
He then made the move to rivals Arsenal in the summer of 2023 and has only gone from strength to strength since. While there have been question marks on his ability to find the back of the net, his overall game perfectly fits the brand of football Mikel Arteta wants to play.
While Havertz is back fit and he remains an integral part of Arteta’s plans, his future is up in the air amidst interest from Bayern Munich. The player could look to move back to Germany, and Arsenal might not mind cashing in on him, as it will help reinforce their squad.
Bayern want Arsenal forward Havertz
Fierce competition at the North London club means he is no longer a regular starter, and Bayern are looking to make the most out of it. His ability to feature anywhere in attack is one of the major reasons why the German giants are after his signature.
Kompany feels his arrival could further enhance Harry Kane’s performances. His arrival will significantly bolster the Bundesliga giants’ offensive rotation. With Serge Gnabry’s future uncertain, the 26-year-old forward will be a perfect replacement.
Meanwhile, a return to his homeland will hand Havertz a perfect opportunity to get his career back on track. Playing for Bayern means he will be able to compete for all major titles. As a result, a move to the German giants will certainly tempt him. Bayern are already preparing financial offers that could convince the club as well as the player.
