Bayern Munich attacker Serge Gnabry reportedly has no interest in joining Tottenham Hotspur, and he will remain at the Allianz Arena beyond the winter transfer window.
According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Serge Gnabry is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker. So, the 30-year-old Bayern Munich forward has emerged as a target for the North London club.
However, the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners have hit a roadblock in the battle for the former Arsenal attacker’s experience, as he does not want to join the Premier League outfit. Instead, Gnabry will remain with Bayern Munich until at least the summer transfer window.
How has Serge Gnabry fared at Bayern Munich so far?
Serge Gnabry has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Bayern Munich from Werder Bremen in July 2017. The 30-year-old has showed flashes of brilliance in the last eight and a half years but has also been prone to being inconsistent during his spell with the Bavarian outfit.
The German international has been solid in the 2025/26 season thus far, scoring seven goals and eight assists in 1,421 minutes of game time across 26 appearances in all competitions. However, Gnabry’s long-term future at the Bundesliga club is uncertain, as he has entered the final six months of his contract. The situation has piqued the attention of several well-known clubs, including Tottenham Hotspur.
London return on the horizon?
Serge Gnabry has been on Tottenham Hotspur’s wishlist for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as the Lilywhites are scouring the market for a player who can fill Son Heung-min’s void in the offensive unit. Additionally, Richarlison and Randal Kolo Muani face an uncertain future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Meanwhile, the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners have sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace this month. Several candidates, including Raheem Sterling, have thus emerged on Tottenham’s wishlist, with Gnabry also a viable target. However, the former Arsenal attacker has dealt a blow to the North London outfit.
The 30-year-old German international has rejected the opportunity to join Tottenham, as he wants to see out the 2025/26 season at Bayern Munich. While Gnabry has entered the final six months of his contract, he wants to continue under Vincent Kompany amid a solid 2025/26 campaign. So, Tottenham must look elsewhere for an offensive reinforcement.
