Aston Villa and Everton are reportedly involved in a pitched battle to land Inter Milan star Luis Henrique.
Inter Milan winger Luis Henrique is quickly emerging as one of the more intriguing names on the Premier League radar this month, with Bournemouth, Aston Villa and Everton all making contact over a potential move. According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasinvia X, the Nerazzurri have received multiple calls regarding the Brazilian attacker, with Bournemouth currently leading the race after submitting the most concrete proposal.
Biasin reports that Bournemouth have put forward an offer worth €30 million all-inclusive, which so far stands above anything tabled by Aston Villa or Everton. While the exact figures from the latter two clubs remain unclear, their interest is genuine, and discussions have been opened as the January transfer window edges closer to its conclusion.
Luis Henrique only joined Inter last summer for a fee of around €22.8 million, but his debut season in Italy has been underwhelming. The 23-year-old has made 23 appearances across competitions, registering just one assist, and has struggled to consistently convince under Cristian Chivu. As a result, Inter are open to cashing in, provided they can secure a replacement before allowing him to depart.
That caveat is crucial, and Inter’s stance is firm that no outgoing deal will be sanctioned unless an incoming signing is confirmed. The club are keen to avoid being left short in wide areas, particularly with the second half of the season approaching and objectives still very much alive on multiple fronts. For now, that condition is slowing progress, but it has not deterred Premier League interest.
From an English perspective, the interest makes sense. Aston Villa are actively searching for additional attacking options following Donyell Malen’s departure, and while Tammy Abraham has already arrived, Unai Emery is understood to want more depth and versatility in the final third. Several candidates, including Harry Wilson, have thus emerged on Aston Villa’s wishlist.
Everton, meanwhile, are dealing with the absence of Jack Grealish due to a stress fracture and may see Henrique as a creative wide option capable of easing that blow. Bournemouth, under Andoni Iraola, continue to be aggressive in the market and appear keen to strike quickly, hence their early and decisive bid.
At this stage, the situation feels primed for a late-window move, potentially going down to the final days, or even hours, of the transfer deadline. Bournemouth have set the pace, but Aston Villa and Everton remain firmly in the conversation, especially if Inter manage to line up a suitable replacement in time.
From the outside, Bournemouth’s proactive approach gives them a clear edge, and a €30 million all-in deal looks reasonable for a player who still has upside despite a slow start in Serie A. For Aston Villa and Everton, this feels more like an opportunistic move than a must-sign scenario.
However, if either club truly believes they can unlock Henrique’s potential, acting decisively will be key. Ultimately, Inter Milan hold the cards, and unless their own recruitment clicks into place soon, this could drag on until the very end of the window.
