Bayern Munich, Inter Milan vying for Martin Odegaard

Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are reportedly interested in exploring a summer move for Arsenal skipper Martin Odegaard.

According to Fichajes, Martin Odegaard is a big target for Bayern Munich and Inter Milan ahead of the summer transfer window. The European bigwigs view the Arsenal skipper as a big addition for their systems, but the Gunners are reportedly demanding at least £80 million, as such a sale would represent a record at the north London club.

The Mikel Arteta project at Arsenal has seen the club rise to new heights, especially with player development and the rise in their respective values. The Gunners are in a strong position this season, owing to the form of their stars as well as the squad depth acquired during the summer window.

However, there might come a time when the club might look to cash in on some of their established stars in the hope of getting the best possible market value in return. One such player could be Martin Odegaard, who has been an exceptional performer since making his move from Real Madrid back in the summer of 2021.

His current deal expires in 2028, and there have been reports of talks over a renewal back in October, but things have not moved along in the required direction. Now, Arsenal might anticipate big offers coming their way, with Inter Milan and Bayern Munich interested in the Gunners skipper.

The two European giants, managed by Cristian Chivu and Vincent Kompany, respectively, view Odegaard as a big piece for their systems. He could be given a central role in their respective projects, but it would take a large investment in the region of £80 million to even tempt the Gunners into considering a sale.

Will Arsenal sell Martin Odegaard?

Since last season, Odegaard has seen a dip in his form, but nothing to suggest the club are ready to sell their captain. The former Real Madrid wonderkid remains an integral part, although the interest in him is nothing surprising, given that Barcelona were linked a while ago.

For now, Arteta completely trusts his club captain, and there is a larger chance of a new deal rather than a sale as things stand. Arsenal considers Odegaard as a key part of their plans for the present and future, meaning they are not planning to sell. However, a large offer for the £80 million-rated playmaker could test their resolve, but it remains to be seen whether either Bayern Munich or Inter Milan makes such proposals.
