AS Roma approve Kostas Tsimikas return to Liverpool

Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas is currently on loan at Serie A club AS Roma, and he may return to Anfield this month.

Liverpool have opened talks to bring Kostsas Tsimikas back to Anfield this month, and the Serie A outfit has approved their request. According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 29-year-old has been permitted to return to the Premier League club this month.

Liverpool have been in talks with Tottenham over a move for Andrew Robertson. However, it seems that the Scottish International could stay at the Premier League club until the end of the season. It remains to be seen whether they are prepared to bring the Greek full-back back to the club. Returning to Liverpool, especially if Robertson stays, would make no sense for the 29-year-old.

Kostas Tsimikas will be the third-choice left-back at the Merseyside club, and it would be better for him to stay at AS Roma beyond the winter transfer window if Robertson remains at Anfield until the end of the 2025/26 season. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.

The 29-year-old needs game time at this stage of his career. Liverpool will not be able to provide him with that platform. Even if Robertson leaves the Merseyside club, Tsimikas would be a backup option to Milos Kerkez, who is clearly the first-choice left-back at Liverpool now.

The young Hungarian international has done quite well in recent weeks, and he has established himself as an important player for the team after a dismal start at his new club. Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas will hope to sort out his future quickly so he can focus on his football. It would be ideal for him to leave Liverpool permanently and join a team where he can play regularly.

The Greek international has shown his quality in the Premier League during his cameos, and he was a useful player for Liverpool. There is no doubt that the 29-year-old is good enough to play at a high-level and joining the right team could bring out the best in him. The player is still very much at the peak of his career, and he should look to join a team where he will be a key player.
