West Ham United have decided to let Guido Rodriguez leave on a free transfer to Valencia, with a deal in place for the move.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Guido Rodriguez is set to sign for Valencia on a free transfer after a deal was agreed with West Ham United. The Argentine midfielder has been a bit-part player for the Hammers this term, and the East London club are keen to make room for further signings i the squad.
West Ham United have been by far the most active Premier League club in the winter transfer window as they continue to make efforts to bring new signings through the door. The Hammers are in real danger of relegation as they are still five points off safety heading into the weekend.
Nuno Espirito Santo is focused on improving his squad’s attacking setup, and they have already signed the likes of Pablo and Taty Castellanos this month. West Ham are angling for further signings before the window shuts, and they need to make space in the squad.
One player who is totally out of their plans is Guido Rodriguez, with the midfielder previously attracting plenty of attention from La Liga. The Argentine international, who arrived on a free transfer back in the summer of 2024, has not clicked at the London Stadium, making 32 appearances for the team across all competitions in the 18 months here.
Brazilian side Gremio were also keen, while there were reports that Juventus were keen to take him on loan. However, it is Valencia who have made a successful approach to the Hammers and the player, and Rodriguez is now set to join the relegation-threatened La Liga side in the coming days.
Guido Rodriguez to Valencia?
Valencia have struck an agreement with West Ham United to take Rodriguez on a free transfer. The 31-year-old West Ham flop will now sign his contract as medical tests have been planned for the coming period, as his presence could help the relegation-threatened La Liga side navigate choppy waters.
Meanwhile, West Ham are on the verge of signing Adama Traore, as Fabrizio Romano has stated there is a deal in place for the Spanish winger. The Hammers are further expected to improve their attacking setup, while manager Nuno Espirito Santo is also keen to land a defensive signing before the window shuts.
