Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Leeds United are reportedly keen on signing 25-year-old Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolverhampton Wanderers this month.
According to a report by Sky Sports journalists Lyall Thomas, Zinny Boswell, James Savundra, and Anton Toloui, Crystal Palace and Leeds United are interested in Jorgen Strand Larsen. The two Premier League clubs are keen on signing a striker in the winter transfer window and have set their sights on the Wolverhampton Wanderers centre-forward. However, a deal may prove difficult for Aston Villa, as they cannot afford the Black Country club’s asking price of £40 million.
Jorgen Strand Larsen and his Premier League journey so far
Jorgen Strand Larsen has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Wolverhampton Wanderers from Celta Vigo. The Premier League club initially signed the 25-year-old on loan in July 2024 before completing a permanent move last summer. However, while the player was top-notch in his debut season with the Black Country outfit, he has been inconsistent this term.
The Norwegian international has managed only six goals and two assists in 24 appearances in all competitions thus far in the 2025/26 season. However, Strand Larsen’s stock is high, with several well-known clubs interested in him. Leeds United, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window, with Wolves demanding £40 million to sell him.
A man in demand
Leeds United will dip into the market for a striker in the final days of the winter transfer window. With Daniel Farke preferring the 3-5-2 formation during Leeds United’s recent resurgent run, pairing another solid striker alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be a sensible decision by the West Yorkshire outfit. So, Strand Larsen has emerged as a viable target for Leeds United.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace’s interest in Jorgen Strand Larsen makes sense. The Eagles are scouring the market for a striker amid uncertainties surrounding Jean-Philippe Mateta’s long-term future. The French international is a target for Juventus and Aston Villa, and he is keen on embarking on a new adventure this month. So, Crystal Palace must sign a new centre-forward this month.
As for Aston Villa, Ollie Watkins is on the wrong side of 30. Additionally, the English international has been inconsistent in the 2025/26 season, compelling the West Midlands outfit to dip into the market for a striker. However, Aston Villa cannot afford Wolverhampton Wanderers’ asking price of £40 million.
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old Norwegian striker wants to remain in the Premier League if he leaves Wolverhampton Wanderers in the winter transfer window. So, while foreign clubs have shown interest in Strand Larsen, the latest update has boosted the prospects of Crystal Palace and Leeds United.
