Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Tottenham vying for Can Uzun

Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on signing 20-year-old Turkish international Can Uzun from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt.

According to a report by Sports Boom, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Can Uzun. The three Premier League clubs are eager to bolster their offensive units by signing a versatile attacker this year. So, the Eintracht Frankfurt star has emerged as a target for them, with the Bundesliga outfit demanding €80 million to part ways with the 20-year-old.

Who is Can Uzun?

Can Uzun has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining Eintracht Frankfurt from FC Nuremberg in July 2024. A native of Regensburg, the Turk spent his formative years in Germany, passing through the academies at Freier-TuS Regensburg, SSV Jahn Regensburg, and FC Ingolstadt 04 before graduating from the youth division at FC Nuremberg.

The 20-year-old has made considerable progress in the last 18 months, and he has enjoyed a solid 2025/26 campaign thus far, contributing to 12 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions by finding the back of the net eight times and providing four assists. Meanwhile, Uzun’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur.

A man in demand

Aston Villa will dip into the market for a versatile attacker this year, as Unai Emery wants to reduce his team’s over-dependence on Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins. Several candidates, including Kevin Schade, have thus emerged on the West Midlands club’s wishlist. However, the Turkish international is also a viable target for Aston Villa.

Meanwhile, Can Uzun has been on Newcastle United’s radar for a long time. The continued interest makes sense, as Joelinton’s long-term future is uncertain. Additionally, Joe Willock will likely depart from St. James’ Park in the winter transfer window. So, Uzun is an option worth considering for Newcastle United.

As for Tottenham Hotspur, the Lilywhites have signed Conor Gallagher in the winter transfer window. However, Thomas Frank can do with more firepower in the final third, making Uzun a viable target for Tottenham. Meanwhile, the 20-year-old Turk will not come cheap.

The latest report has revealed that Eintracht Frankfurt will demand around €80 million to part ways with the youngster. With Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Tottenham Hotspur pushing for the Turkish international’s signature, it will be interesting to see if his stint in the Bundesliga ends this year.
