Tottenham join race to sign Crysencio Summerville

Transfer News: Tottenham make move to sign Ollie Tanner.

Tottenham Hotspur will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville from West Ham United in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by the Daily Mail, Crysencio Summerville is the subject of interest from Tottenham Hotspur. The Lilywhites are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a wide attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 24-year-old West Ham United winger has emerged as a target for the North London outfit.

How has Crysencio Summerville fared at West Ham United?

Crysencio Summerville has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining West Ham United in a deal worth £25 million in August 2024. Born in Rotterdam, the Dutchman spent his formative years in his homeland, starting his youth career with RVV Noorderkwartier before graduating from the youth division at Feyenoord.

However, the 24-year-old rose in prominence during his spell with Leeds United, making significant progress after joining the West Yorkshire outfit from Feyenoord in September 2020. Summerville had to bide his time before becoming a regular for the Whites, but he was exceptional in the EFL Championship.

West Ham United signed Summerville in August 2024, and he has struggled for regular game time in the last 18 months. The Dutch winger has made only 40 appearances for the East London outfit thus far while chipping in with three goals and six assists. However, the player’s stock remains high, with Tottenham Hotspur among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

Move across London on the horizon?

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Crysencio Summerville is understandable. The Lilywhites have been scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the winter transfer window, as they have yet to fill Son Heung-min’s void since the South Korean international joined LAFC. Additionally, Richarlison’s long-term future at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is uncertain.

Meanwhile, Mathys Tel is unhappy at the North London club after Thomas Frank excluded him from the UEFA Champions League squad for the second time. While the 2024/25 UEFA Europa League winners are keen on blocking an exit for the Frenchman, they have kept their options open in the market by pursuing Summerville.

Other wingers, including Oscar Bobb, are also on Tottenham’s wishlist, but Summerville is also a viable target. However, it is unclear if West Ham will allow the 24-year-old Dutchman to depart from the London Stadium in the winter transfer window.
