Manchester United ponder Marcus Rashford return

Manchester United are pondering a return for Marcus Rashford should Barcelona not trigger the existing buy option in his loan deal.

According to Football Transfers, Manchester United could offer Marcus Rashford a new lease on life at Old Trafford should he come back. The Red Devils ponder a return for their academy graduate should Barcelona fail to trigger the existing buy option in his loan deal.

The Marcus Rashford case remains wide open as things stand, with Barcelona yet to decide on triggering a sizeable buy option in the loan deal. The English winger wanted to join the Catalans since last January and got his wish in the summer when they presented a favourable loan agreement to Manchester United.

The winger has been a hit signing in Catalonia so far, with 8 goals and 11 assists in his 29 games across all competitions. Rashford remains intent on staying at Barcelona beyond his current loan spell, and with the Spanish giants having a sizeable buy option to trigger to make it happen, the situation remains open.

Barcelona have rumoured to have made a €22 million offer as per reports in Spain, which is significantly less than the stipulated buy option, which is reportedly in the region of €30 million or more. There are some financial constraints at the Catalan club, which could see them renegotiate the price with Manchester United.

The Catalans are indeed prepared to sign Rashford permanently, but they might seek a reduced price point to negotiate. Whether Manchester United is ready to accept the reduced terms remains to be seen, as they may not feel compelled to do so, given that the 19 G/A attacker has good market value, should they plan on selling him elsewhere.

Marcus Rashford to make Manchester United return?

The report states that Manchester United is pondering a return for Rashford should Barcelona fail to activate the buy option in his loan deal. Whether that is to integrate him back into the team or to sell him elsewhere remains to be seen, but the winger has no future at the club despite the departure of Ruben Amorim.

As things stand, Rashford remains intent on staying at Barcelona beyond the current season and is hoping the move becomes permanent. It’s a matter between the two clubs to sort out the situation and find a viable solution for the winger’s future.
