Manchester United considering surprise move for Wilfred Ndidi

Manchester United are reportedly considering bringing Besiktas midfield star Wilfred Ndidi back to the Premier League.

Former Leicester City star Wilfred Ndidi is keen on securing a return to the Premier League. According to Aydin Bayram, Manchester United have emerged as a potential destination in a surprising turn of events. The Red Devils are considering making a move for the experienced midfielder.

Ndidi made quite a name for himself while playing for the Foxes. Following an impressive rise at Genk, he joined Leicester at the start of 2017. The Nigerian international went from strength to strength post that, and he became one of their mainstays.

After an eight-year-long succesful spell at the club, Wilfred Ndidi made the move to Turkiye last summer. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder has been involved in a total of 16 matches and has contributed towards two goals.

While everything seems to be going as per plan on the pitch and he still has well over two years left on his deal, his future has become an interesting talking point amidst interest from Premier League clubs. The Nigerian international reportedly wants to secure a return to England.

The Red Devils want Ndidi

Manchester United have emerged as a surprise destination for the 29-year-old. The Red Devils have a long-standing interest in Wilfred Ndidi, and he seem set to revive their pursuit. The Premier League giants want more quality in the centre of the park.

Manchester United want someone who can compete with Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo for a place in the XI, and Ndidi, with his experience, could be an exceptional acquisition. He will add a lot of quality, and with Casemiro’s long-term future uncertain, Ndidi could help cope with his absence in the years to come.

While Besiktas would love to have him around until the end of his contract, they might not stand in his way if an interested club is ready to meet their asking price of €15 million. It won’t be that straightforward to sign him just six months after his move to Turkiye, but Manchester United are seriously considering knocking on Besiktas’ door.
