Mikel Arteta pushing Arsenal to sign Arda Guler

Mikel Arteta reportedly is pushing to get a deal for Arda Guler in place, as he is keen on signing the Real Madrid star for Arsenal.

According to Fichajes, Arda Guler is emerging as a serious target for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal in the near future. The Gunners boss wants the club to keep close tabs on the Real Madrid utility man’s situation at the Santiago Bernabeu to secure his signature at some stage in the future.

Arda Guler is pencilled for great things at the Santiago Bernabeu, which was the aim of Florentino Perez when he fought off several suitors to sign him. The former Fenerbahce star has been improving his game at the club and has been particularly impressive and trusted under former boss Xabi Alonso.

With the Spamiard now no longer at the club, some of the attention will be on Guler’s situation under interim boss Alvaro Arbeloa, as well as whoever takes on the helm in the long term. The Real Madrid utility man has not shown any signs of slowing down, which does make his future at the club bright.

However, there’s the element of outside interest in Guler, particularly from the Premier League, where many teams are keen. The likes of Liverpool and Manchester United had been interested in the attacking midfielder, as well as Arsenal.

The Gunners are particularly interested, with Miukel Arteta reportedly pushing the idea of bringing the Real Madrid utility man to the Emirates. Tactically and stylistically, the Turkish star fits into the mould of the kind of player that the Spanish manager would want for his system, as he could push the Gunners to get a deal in place.

Real Madrid to sell Arda Guler?

Real Madrid may be enticed by a large enough offer from one of the Premier League giants, given Manchester City are also keen, and in this case, Arsenal. Perez might consider things from a financial standpoint, although from the sporting side, the Real Madrid supremo sees a big future for the Turkish international at the Bernabeu.

Given his age and the importance he holds in the team, Perez is likely to turn down approaches for the attacking midfielder from Arsenal or elsewhere. Moreover, Guler is also thought to be very happy with life on and off the pitch in Madrid, and has no reason to leave the club despite the growing interest from the Premier League.
