Fulham will reportedly look to sign 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international Troy Parrott from Eredivisie club AZ Alkmaar in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by The Independent, Troy Parrott is the subject of interest from Fulham. The Cottagers are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 23-year-old AZ Alkmaar centre-forward has emerged as a target for the West London club.
However, Fulham will not be alone in the battle for the Irishman’s signature, as he is also a target for Real Betis and VfL Wolfsburg. The three clubs are the front-runners to land Parrott, with the Bundesliga outfit discussing a deal worth €20 million. However, AZ Alkmaar will demand more to part ways with the former Tottenham Hotspur prospect.
How has Troy Parrott fared since leaving Tottenham?
Troy Parrott has made considerable progress since leaving Tottenham Hotspur and joining AZ Alkmaar in July 2024. The 23-year-old has been one of the best young prospects in the Eredivisie, and he has recently been in the news after singlehandedly taking the Republic of Ireland closer to a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup by scoring all five goals as the Green Army reached the playoffs with narrow wins over Portugal and Hungary.
Meanwhile, Parrott has contributed to 23 goals in 25 appearances across all competitions thus far in the 2025/26 season by scoring 19 times and providing four assists. The Irish striker’s exploits have not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Fulham will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this year.
A man in demand
Fulham’s interest in Troy Parrott is understandable. The Cottagers have been scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, as Raul Jimenez has been the only available centre-forward in Marco Silva’s squad due to Rodrigo Muniz’s long-term hamstring injury.
With Jimenez on the wrong side of 30 and approaching the twilight of his career, Fulham can do with a new striker. Several candidates, including Ricardo Pepi and Evan Ferguson, have thus emerged on the West London club’s wishlist, with Parrott also a viable target. However, Fulham will not be alone in the battle for the Irishman’s signature, as Real Betis and VfL Wolfsburg are also interested in him.
The three clubs are the front-runners to land Parrott, with the Bundesliga outfit discussing a deal worth €20 million. However, AZ Alkmaar will demand more to part ways with the former Tottenham Hotspur prospect. With many other Premier League clubs also keen on signing the 23-year-old Republic of Ireland international, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
