Everton make approach for Wilson Isidor, price revealed

Everton will reportedly look to sign 25-year-old French striker Wilson Isidor from high-flying Premier League club Sunderland in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by the Daily Mirror journalist Ryan Taylor, Wilson Isidor is the subject of interest from Everton. The Toffees are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 25-year-old Sunderland centre-forward has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit.

Everton recently “made a check on the availability of [the] Sunderland striker” in the winter transfer window. However, while the Toffees have submitted an informal enquiry, they have yet to contact the Black Cats. Meanwhile, the high-flying Premier League club will demand around £25 million to part ways with the Frenchman in the coming weeks.

Who is Wilson Isidor?

Wilson Isidor has made significant progress since joining Sunderland from Zenit St Petersburg. A native of Rennes, the 25-year-old spent his formative years in France and graduated from the youth division at Stade Rennais. Meanwhile, Sunderland initially signed the player on loan in August 2024 before completing a permanent move six months later.

Isidor has made over 50 appearances for Sunderland thus far while chipping in with 17 goals and two assists. However, the French striker has been in and out of the starting lineup at the Wearside club, and a January exit may be on the cards. Everton will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

Move across the Premier League on the cards?

Everton’s interest in Wilson Isidor is understandable. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, as Beto and Thierno Barry have not been consistent enough in the final third this season. Additionally, Beto faces an uncertain future at Everton amid his links with several Serie A clubs, including AS Roma.

Meanwhile, several strikers, including Romelu Lukaku, have thus emerged on Everton’s wishlist, with Isidor also a viable target. The Toffees have submitted an informal enquiry to discuss a possible deal for the 25-year-old Frenchman.

However, Everton and Sunderland have yet to hold talks over a deal for Isidor, although the Black Cats value him at around £25 million. It will be interesting to see if the French striker joins Everton in the winter transfer window.
