Crystal Palace establish contact over Jayden Oosterwolde move

Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old versatile Dutch defender Jayden Oosterwolde from Fenerbahce in the winter transfer window.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Serkan Hamzaoglu, Jayden Oosterwolde is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their defensive unit by signing a centre-back in the winter transfer window. So, the versatile 24-year-old Fenerbahce defender has emerged as a target for the South London outfit.

The latest report has revealed that the 2024/25 FA Cup winners have contacted Fenerbahce to discuss a possible move for the Dutchman. While the Turkish Super Lig giants are not interested in parting ways with Oosterwolde, they are open to listening to Crystal Palace’s offer for the versatile defender.

How has Jayden Oosterwolde fared in Turkiye?

Jayden Oosterwolde has landed on his feet since joining Fenerbahce from Parma in January 2023. Born in Zwolle, the 24-year-oldspent his formative years in his homeland and graduated from the youth division at FC Twente. However, he has risen in prominence during his spell in Turkiye in the last three years.

Oosterwolde has made nearly 100 appearances for Fenerbahce thus far while chipping in with three goals and one assist. Meanwhile, the versatile Dutch defender’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, particularly in the Premier League. Crystal Palace will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

London calling?

Jayden Oosterwolde has been on Crystal Palace’s radar for a long time. The continued interest is understandable, as Marc Guehi has joined Manchester City in the winter transfer window. So, the Eagles are scouring the market for a centre-back, with several candidates, including Yann Bisseck, emerging on their wishlist.

However, Oosterwolde has also emerged as a viable target for Crystal Palace. The 2024/25 FA Cup winners have ramped up their efforts to sign the 24-year-old Dutchman by contacting Fenerbahce to discuss a possible deal in the winter transfer window.

However, the Turkish Super Lig giants are not keen on parting ways with Oosterwolde, although they are open to listening to Crystal Palace’s proposal. It will be interesting to see if the South London club can convince Fenerbahce to part ways with the versatile Dutch defender in the winter transfer window.
