Stoke City eyeing loan move for Jesurun Rak-Sakyi

Stoke City are angling for a loan move to sign Crystal Palace winger Jesurun Rak-Sakyi this month after he returned from a short spell in Turkey.

According to Football Insider, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi is a key target for Stoke City this month, with the Premier League promotion hopefuls eager to take him on loan. The 23-year-old winger spent the first half of the campaign on loan in Turkey with Caykur Rizespor, but he has since returned to the club with another move in mind.

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was primed for a big career when he was coming through the Crystal Palace academy. Having had spells with Brighton & Hove Albion and the Chelsea setup before developing his talents with the Eagles, the 23-year-old winger has not found the right rhythm to kick-start his footballing career in the Premier League.

Since making his debut for the club in 2021, Rak-Sakyi has played a total of 10 games for Crystal Palace across all competitions, but none since October 2023. Since his debut for the Eagles, the 23-year-old winger has had productive loan spells with Charlton and Sheffield United, and with Caykur Rizespor very recently.

Crystal Palace have recalled him from his spell in Turkey with another move in mind. This is even though Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was finding his feet with Caykur Rizespor. Premier League promotion hopefuls Stoke City are now angling for a loan move this month as they are eager for signings that would help them push towards playing in the top flight next season.

Recent reports has stated that Jesurun Rak-Sakyi was close to joining Swansea City, but the 23-year-old winger reportedly prefers a switch to Stoke City as things stand. The Potters are likely to discuss terms with Crystal Palace before taking the attacker for the remainder of the season. Rak-Sakyi’s current deal with the South London club ends in 2027, meaning the club will look for a permanent solution in the summer.

Big problems ahead for Crystal Palace?

There are some big concerns brewing over at Selhurst Park, as they could be staring at a bleak end to what promised to be a good season. Marc Guehi is set to join Manchester City, while there are doubts over other stars, such as Jean-Philippe Mateta’s future, with Juventus pushing to sign the striker.

Meanwhile, Oliver Glasner has confirmed that he will leave at the end of the season, which does make their current project redundant to a large extent. There are big problems ahead for Crystal Palace before the season ends, as their campaign might derail in a big way owing to departures and uncertainty around key figures.
