Napoli rival Everton in Youssef En-Nesyri chase

Napoli will reportedly compete with Everton in the race to sign 28-year-old Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce in the winter transfer window.

According to a report by Spanish outlet Fichajes, Youssef En-Nesyri is the subject of interest from Napoli. The Serie A champions are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a striker in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old Fenerbahce centre-forward has emerged as a target for the Partenopei.

The African attacker is also a target for Everton, and the Toffees have already submitted a bid to sign the Fez native from Fenerbahce in the winter transfer window. It will be interesting to see if Napoli’s interest in the player changes the equation in the coming weeks.

How has Youssef En-Nesyri fared at Fenerbahce?

Youssef En-Nesyri has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Fenerbahce from Sevilla in July 2024. The 28-year-old arrived in Turkiye after a superb spell in La Liga, and he was among the most prolific attackers in the Turkish Super Lig in his debut season with the Yellow Canaries. However, his output has dropped this term.

The Moroccan international has managed only eight goals and one assist in 25 appearances thus far in the 2025/26 season. However, En-Nesyri’s stock remains high, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Everton and Napoli are among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

A man in demand

Everton’s interest in Youssef En-Nesyri makes sense. The Toffees have been scouring the market for a striker heading into the winter transfer window, as Beto and Thierno Barry have not been consistent enough in the first half of the 2025/26 season. Additionally, Beto’s long-term Everton future is uncertain, and interestingly, intermediaries recently offered him to Fenerbahce.

Several strikers, including Jorgen Strand Larsen, have thus emerged on Everton’s radar, with En-Nesyri also a viable target. As for Napoli, the Serie A champions are concerned about Romelu Lukaku’s fitness and Lorenzo Lucca’s form. With Rasmus Hojlund being the only other striker in Antonio Conte’s squad, they want a new centre-forward in the winter transfer window.

Everton will hope they are still in pole position to sign the 28-year-old Moroccan international after submitting a bid to sign him this week. It will be interesting to see if Napoli’s arrival in the battle for En-Nesyri’s signature changes the equation in the coming weeks.
