The Merseyside club have identified the 25-year-old midfield star as a priority target for the next summer transfer window. They have a long-standing interest in Tonali and are finally ready to make a move to secure his services.
Tonali came up the ranks at Brescia and had an impressive spell at AC Milan before joining Newcastle in the summer of 2023. He has only gone from strength to strength since.

He is widely regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in England, and with him back at his best, the Reds are desperate to have him on their bench. While Ryan Gravenberch has done a great job in the holding role, they want someone who can compete with the Dutch international for a spot in the starting XI.
