Paris FC still working on Mathys Tel move, Tottenham blocking deal

Paris FC are trying to sign Mathys Tel on loan this month, with Tottenham seemingly blocking any move for the French attacker.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Pars FC are working to get Mathys Tel on loan this month in an attempt to improve their squad. The Ligue 1 newcomers are ready to allow the Frenchman to play in his preferred position as a striker, but Tottenham are blocking any potential exit.

Mathys Tel has been a curious case at Tottenham this season, especially after he was omitted from the Champions League group stage squad despite the club signing him permanently back in the summer. The attacker has suffered from a lack of regular game time this term, which has caused concerns over his future.

Tel had been considering a loan exit this month in an attempt to boost his minutes elsewhere. More importantly, the attacker is eager to play more in his preferred No.9 role, something Thomas Frank has not afforded the Frenchman at Tottenham.

There have been a few enquiries, including one from Villarreal, and so far, Tottenham has not made their stance clear on his future. Paris FC also made several approaches to take the Frenchman back to his homeland, but so far, they have not managed to find any joy in the pursuit.

Paris FC are ready to offer the 20-year-old Tottenham prospect a chance to play in his preferred role as a striker, in an attempt to lure the Frenchman. The preference of the player remains unknown at the moment, but credible reports have insisted Tel remains unhappy with his current situation at Spurs.

Tottenham to offload Mathys Tel?

While Paris FC are working on a loan move for Tel, Tottenham are blocking all enquiries for the 20-year-old prospect, including the one from the Ligue 1 newcomers. The north Londoners are hesitant to agree on an exit for the Frenchman this month, having already sold Brennan Johnson to Crystal Palace earlier in the window.

With some more injuries coming Tottenham’s way, the club are not sure about letting another one of their attackers leave and further weaken their ranks. The main reason could be in line with Mohammed Kudus’ serious injury that will see the attacker sidelined until April at the very least, as the club must find a solution to keep Tel happy moving forward.
