Everton eyeing Kevin Boma swoop, establish contact

Everton are eyeing a move for Kevin Boma, who plays for Portuguese side Estoril Praia, this month, as David Moyes eyes defensive reinforcements.

According to a report by TEAMtalk, Everton are looking into the market for a defensive signing this month, with a new name on their radar. The said player is Kevin Boma, the Togo international who plays for Portuguese club Estoril.

Everton may feel like signing a defensive player this month as David Moyes feels a shortage at the back. The Toffees have faced some issues with depth, especially as key defender Jarrad Branthwaite has missed most of the campaign with an injury sustained earlier.

He is yet to fully recover from his issues, which has led Everton into the market in search of a defender. They had been linked with an audacious move for Ben White, but Arsenal are uninterested in parting ways with the defender at this point, and are not thinking about courting offers for the versatile defender.

They have now set their sights on Kevin Boma, the Togo international who plays his football with Portuguese side Estoril. The 23-year-old centre-back has been impressing with his performances in Portugal, and now the Toffees could explore a move for the defender.

Boma is contracted with Estoril until 2028, which does give the Portuguese side some leeway in negotiations, should an offer arrive from Everton. It remains to be seen whether the Toffees can prise the 23-year-old centre-back away this month to improve their backline.

Will Kevin Boma join Everton?

Boma might be a player of unknown quantity and quality at this moment, but Everton are known to bring in the right players, particularly in the defence. There’s the element of acquiring a player that may not be on the radars of many clubs, although Everton does face competition from a few teams, as per the report.

As for the 23-year-old centre-back, it could be a big opportunity to make a big switch in his career, as a move to Everton might seem appealing. It remains to be seen how much Estoril would demand for the centre-back in this window, particularly given that replacing him might result in a higher demand for the defensive talent.
