Manchester United regularly scouting Tarik Muharemovic

Manchester United are closely scouting defensive talent Tarik Muharemovic ahead of a possible approach, but faces intense competition.

According to Caught Offside, Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Sassuolo’s defensive talent Tarik Muharemovic. The Red Devils are part of a larger group of clubs looking at the defender, with scouts from Old Trafford observing his game intently as an approach could be on the cards.

Tarik Muharemovic has made a big impact on proceedings in a short span, as he has only begun his senior career at the top level. Having signed from Juventus in a modest deal in the summer, Sassuolo have a fight on their hands as the Bosnian is attracting massive interest.

Juventus themselves are interested in bringing the player back to the club, with the Bianconeri owning 50% of his rights, making a deal all the more easier for them. However, Juventus having the clause in the deal also complicates the process for other suitors, and there are quite a handful chasing the 22-year-old Serie A defender.

Chief among those are Manchester United, who are part of the running alongside a host of their Premier League rivals. Muharemovic’s profile as a left-footed centre-back does make him an attractive proposition, given that a lot of the top clubs are angling for such a defender, although Sassuolo are currently uninterested in a sale.

Newcastle United are also interested in Muharemovic, and so are Tottenham, with either of those teams looking at options to improve their backline. However, it is Manchester United who are making inroads in the pursuit, as their scouts are keeping close watch on the 22-year-old Serie A defender’s performances for Sassuolo.

Manchester United to sign Tarik Muahemovic?

Manchester United are certainly showing signs of having a serious interest in the 22-year-old Serie A defender, although the pathway towards Muyahemovic is rather complicated. The clause that Juventus has could make the Turn giants the favourites, unless there’s a larger financial offer for both the Bianconeri and Sassuolo to consider.

Manchester United needs to plan for the future of their backline as Harry Maguire could leave in the coming period. As a long-term replacement, Muahemovic could fit into the equation, although the likes of Tottenham and Newcastle United are also expected to put up a fight to sign the Bosnian, which does make Manchester United’s job a bit tougher.
