Bruno Fernandes could leave Manchester United after Ruben Amorim sack

Bruno Fernandes is considering parting ways with Manchester United following Ruben Amorim’s sacking.

Following a run of poor results and behind-the-scenes tension, Manchester United ended up sacking Ruben Amorim earlier in the month. While they are currently focused on bringing in an ideal replacement, the Portuguese manager’s untimely departure hasn’t gone down well with one of their most important players.

According to a report from Fichajes, Bruno Fernandes isn’t pleased with the Red Devils’ decision to sack the Portuguese manager, and it has resulted in him considering leaving the club at the end of the season.

The United skipper was convinced that the former Sporting CP boss was the right man to help the club regain their lost prominence. However, the board wasn’t on the same page with the 40-year-old, and after internal disputes, they showed him the exit door.

Fernandes, who joined United at the start of 2020 from Sporting, has been one of their standout performers over the years. While there was a lot of talk about his future during the last summer window, and even Fernandes claimed that the board was ready to sell him, Amorim wanted him around at all costs.

As a result, the Portuguese international ended up staying at Old Trafford, and yet again he has been one of their most consistent performers with 13 goal contributions in his 18 league outings.

While he remains an integral part of their plans and still has 18 months left on his deal, Fernandes’ future has been a big talking point in recent weeks. Reports have suggested United are considering cashing in on the 31-year-old amidst interest from the Middle East.

Fernandes could end up leaving Manchester United

However, recent developments suggest Fernandes could be the one pushing for a move away. Amorim’s sacking has been a big blow for the United skipper, and it has forced him to consider his future at the club. He is disappointed with the club’s ownership and their decision.

Amorim was supposed to be the one to help United get back to the top. But the manner in which he has been sacked has affected some of the leaders in their dressing room, and Fernandes is one of them.

While he won’t rush into any immediate decision, he is certainly considering leaving United for a more established project elsewhere. With the World Cup coming up in six months, he will continue at Old Trafford for now, but could end up leaving after the global event.
