Aston Villa told to pay €20 million to sign Tammy Abraham

Besiktas will reportedly demand around €20 million to part ways with 28-year-old English striker Tammy Abraham in the winter transfer window amid his links with Aston Villa.

According to a report by Turkish outlet Sabah, Tammy Abraham is the subject of interest from Aston Villa. The Villans are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 28-year-old striker has emerged as a target amid his exploits for Turkish Super Lig club Besiktas.

A mid-season deal may materialise, even though it is not straightforward. Besiktas will seal a permanent deal worth €13 million by triggering the mandatory purchase clause before accepting a bid for the Englishman. The Black Eagles want €20 million to sell Abraham, and they may approve a winter departure for the former Chelsea striker.

How has Tammy Abraham fared since leaving Chelsea?

Tammy Abraham has endured a topsy-turvy ride since leaving Chelsea. He joined AS Roma in August 2021 and hit the ground running in a memorable debut season. However, poor form and fitness issues plagued him in the next two and a half years. AC Milan signed the 28-year-old striker on loan from AS Roma for the 2024/25 season, and he was inconsistent throughout his spell.

However, the English striker has resurrected his fortunes this season, as he has scored 12 goals and provided three assists in 24 appearances across all competitions during his loan spell with Besiktas. Abraham’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Aston Villa will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.

Premier League return on the horizon?

Aston Villa’s interest in Tammy Abraham makes sense. The Villans have been scouring the market for a versatile attacker heading into the winter transfer window. While Unai Emery’s men have been exceptional in the 2025/26 season after a slow start, the offensive output has not been sustainable.

Aston Villa’s overdependence on Ollie Watkins was the team’s undoing in the early struggles, and other attackers, apart from Morgan Rogers, have not been productive enough. Several candidates, including Omar Marmoush, have thus emerged on Aston Villa’s wishlist, with Abraham also a viable target, as he will not cost a bomb.

A mid-season deal for the 28-year-old Englishman may materialise, as Besiktas will seal a permanent deal worth €13 million before accepting a bid worth around €20 million. Recent reports claimed that Aston Villa received the green light to pursue Abraham’s signature, and it will be interesting to see if he returns to Villa Park in a deal worth €20 million in the coming weeks.
