Aston Villa hold talks to seal Tammy Abraham deal, details revealed

Unai Emery’s Aston Villa are reportedly in talks to sign AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham, who is currently on loan at Besiktas.

According to a report from Football Insider, Aston Villa are keen on bringing Tammy Abraham back to the Premier League in the ongoing transfer window. Unai Emery’s team are in talks with Besiktas and AS Roma, as they look to strike a deal for the former Chelsea striker, who has had a sensational loan spell at Villa Park back in the day.

Abraham was a part of the Chelsea setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their first team in the summer of 2017, following which he had impressive loan spells at Swansea City and Aston Villa.

Aston Villa fans absolutely love the 28-year-old English striker, as he played a massive role in helping them secure promotion back to the Premier League in 2019. He bagged 26 goals in the English second division during his time at Villa Park.

The Englishman left England and moved to Italy in the summer of 2021 to join AS Roma. Tammy Abraham had a sensational debut campaign, but he has not had much success post that. After a decent loan spell at AC Milan last time out, the 28-year-old ended up joining Turkish giants Besiktas for the 2025/26 season.

The Chelsea graduate has been one of the standout performers for the Super Lig outfit with 12 goals and three assists in his 24 outings. The player’s performances have resulted in interest from Aston Villa, who seek more firepower in the final third.

Aston Villa are making moves to sign Abraham

Unai Emery’s team have been doing wonders in the Premier League this season. The West Midlands outfit are third on the table, and they have an eight-point cushion over fourth-placed Liverpool. Despite the impressive first half, the Spanish manager is desperate to bring in another striker to further bolster their squad.

Tammy Abraham, who has done wonders for them back in the day, is seen as a priority target for them. However, securing his services won’t be that straightforward, as he is currently on loan at Besiktas and they have a £11 million obligation to buy him at the end of the season.

Aston Villa are in talks with both Roma and Besiktas to strike a deal, but the limited time makes things very difficult for them. However, the Turkish club’s manager, Sergen Yalcin, has given the green light to Abraham’s departure, which certainly helps. But they will have to pay compensation if they want Besiktas to forfeit the purchase clause.
