West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 19-year-old Senegalese midfield prospect Alpha Toure from relegation-threatened Ligue 1 club FC Metz this year.
According to a report by Wiw Sports, Alpha Toure is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are keen on reinforcing their first-team squad by signing a holding midfielder this year. So, the 19-year-old FC Metz prospect has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.
The Irons are “prepared to offer a substantial sum to convince Metz to part with their talented player” this year. However, the report has revealed that it is “a very complex deal, and Touré is still far from leaving Lorraine” anytime soon.
Alpha Toure has established himself as one of the most promising young midfielders in Ligue 1 since joining FC Metz from Generation Foot in July 2024. A native of Kaolack, the youngster spent most of his formative years thus far in Senegal. However, the 19-year-old has made considerable progress during his spell in France.
The Senegalese midfield prospect has made nearly 50 appearances thus far for FC Metz while chipping in with one goal. Meanwhile, Toure’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. An adventure in the Premier League may be on the cards, with West Ham United among the prospective suitors vying for his signature this year.
West Ham United’s interest in Alpha Toure is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a promising young holding midfielder, as James Ward-Prowse has no future at the London Stadium. Additionally, Guido Rodriguez will likely leave West Ham this month amid his links with Juventus.
Several candidates, including Tochukwu Nnadi, have thus emerged on West Ham’s wishlist, with Toure also a viable target. The latest report has revealed more information about the East London club’s interest in the promising FC Metz midfielder.
