RB Leipzig will demand around €120 million to consider selling 19-year-old Ivory Coast international Yan Diomande in the winter transfer window.
According to a report by TEAMtalk, Liverpool and Manchester United are interested in Yan Diomande. The two Premier League clubs are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing a versatile wide attacker in the winter transfer window. So, the 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger has emerged as a target for them.
Recent reports have revealed that the Bundesliga outfit may be ready to sell the Ivorian for only €60 million in the winter transfer window. However, RB Leipzig will demand at least double that to consider selling him this month. So, Liverpool and Manchester United must break the bank to secure his services midway through the 2025/26 season.
Who is Yan Diomande?
Yan Diomande has taken no time to establish himself as one of the most promising young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining RB Leipzig from CD Leganes this past summer. The Abidjan native spent most of his formative years thus far in the USA before moving to Spain earlier this year. However, the youngster’s spell with CD Leganes ended after only six months, with RB Leipzig securing his services.
The 19-year-old has been one of the most productive attackers for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 16 appearances in all competitions thus far. Meanwhile, his progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League bigwigs. Liverpool and Manchester United are among the prospective suitors vying for the Ivory Coast international.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Manchester United’s interest in Yan Diomande makes sense. The Red Devils are combing the market for a versatile wide attacker, as Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo are unavailable due to their participation at the Africa Cup of Nations. Additionally, Manchester United can do with more quality in the final third. So, Diomande is a viable target.
As for Liverpool, the Reds are scouring the market for a versatile wide attacker amid uncertainties surrounding Mohamed Salah’s long-term future. Additionally, Luis Diaz’s departure has affected Liverpool’s output in the final third, and Diomande can be a long-term like-for-like replacement for the Colombian international.
However, the 19-year-old Ivory Coast international will cost a bomb in the winter transfer window, as RB Leipzig will demand around €120 million to part ways with him. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Diomande, as a January deal is unlikely to materialise.
