Ethan Nwaneri wants Arsenal stay amid Bournemouth links

Bournemouth could suffer a blow in their efforts to sign Ethan Nwaneri on loan this month as the teenager prefers to stay with Arsenal.

According to The Independent, Ethan Nwaneri wants to stay at Arsenal for the remainder of the season, which could come as a big blow to Bournemouth’s hopes of signing him. The Cherries had earmarked the teenager as a potential short-term replacement for Antoine Semenyo, although the 18-year-old Arsenal wonderkid is keen to stay as a part of Mikel Arteta’s title-chasing side.

Bournemouth are expected to make a move for a new wide attacker this month, as Antoine Semenyo inches closer to joining Manchester City. The latter scored the winner against Tottenham on Wednesday night, which happened to be his last kick for the Cherries, as he is now set for a switch to the Etihad.

Over at the Vitality Stadium, Andoni Iraola would certainly want a replacement lined up, as there were early links to Brennan Johnson, who has since joined Crystal Palace. There were rumours of links to Ethan Nwaneri, especially given that the 18-year-old Arsenal wonderkid is playing far less compared to last season.

Arsenal expected approaches for Ethan Nwaneri ahead of January, and they could be open to the idea of allowing the teenager regular game time elsewhere. Mikel Arteta has plenty of options in the attacking midfield and wide areas where Nwaneri prefers to operate, and they could angle for a loan exit for the teenager.

The teenage prospect also signed a long-term deal at the Emirates, which secures his future here. However, Arteta would want the teenager to experience first-team action with regularity, and Bournemouth were open to signing him on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

Ethan Nwaneri to stay at Arsenal?

Nwaneri had no interest in leaving amid recent interest from Manchester United, and now, it appears, the 18-year-old Arsenal wonderkid does not even want to leave on loan. While the teenager would want to play regular minutes, he seems content with being part of a title-chasing side, with suggestions that he would want to learn from the group and experience.

Nwaneri might assess his future in the summer, as Arsenal are not interested in selling him outright in the short term or probably even next summer. The report also states that should he leave the Gunners, the preference might be a switch to a club outside of England, with earlier stories linking Borussia Dortmund with an interest.
