West Ham United have enquired about the availability of Al-Nassr shot-stopper Bento, as they look to add more quality in goal.
After a very disappointing first half of the season, relegation-threatened West Ham United are looking at the winter transfer window as an opportunity to significantly bolster their squad. They want to add more quality to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad in hopes of surviving the drop.
The Hammers are keen on signing a new goalkeeper, and according to a report from Sky Sports, they have approached Al-Nassr, as they look to sign their 26-year-old shot-stopper Bento. The East London club have enquired about his availability in the ongoing transfer window.
Bento made a name for himself while playing for Athletico Paranaense before joining the Saudi Pro League giants in the summer of 2024. While he was their preferred choice in goal last season, making 49 appearances across competitions, the Brazilian goalkeeper is no longer the go-to man this time around.
The South American shot-stopper has only made one league appearance so far. While he has started the majority of their cup games, the limited game time has resulted in a lot of talk about his future at the club.
West Ham want to sign Bento in January
Bento’s contract at the Saudi club runs until the summer of 2028, but there are clubs that are ready to sign him in the ongoing transfer window. West Ham are one of the clubs that are interested in his services, as Nuno is looking for an upgrade in goal.
Mads Hermansen has not had the desired impact, and Bento could come in to provide him with much-needed competition. The Hammers have already enquired about his availability. They are looking to sign him on loan with an option to buy.
However, the East London outfit have not made any significant progress in talks with Al-Nassr. Despite not being a regular starter in the league, Bento still seems to be a very important part of the Saudi club’s plans. As a result, they might be reluctant to let him leave. In the end, it might come down to the player’s desire.
