West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 26-year-old Brazilian international Bento from Al-Nassr in the winter transfer window.
According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Bento is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are eager to reinforce their first-team squad by signing a goalkeeper in the winter transfer window. So, the 26-year-old Al-Nassr shot-stopper has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.
However, the Irons are behind Genoa in the battle for the South American goalkeeper’s signature, as the Red and Blues have submitted an initial offer to sign him from the Saudi Pro League club. With the Grifone waiting for Al-Nassr’s response, it will be interesting to see West Ham’s response to the developments.
Who is Bento?
Bento Matheus Krepski, better known as Bento, has established himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the Saudi Pro League since joining Al-Nassr from Athletico Paranaense in a shock move in July 2024. The move came after several Premier League bigwigs chased his signature.
Nevertheless, the 26-year-old has been superb for Al-Nassr, keeping 59 clean sheets while letting in 163 goals in 164 appearances thus far. Meanwhile, the Brazilian goalkeeper’s progress at the Saudi Pro League club has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. West Ham United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature in the winter transfer window.
London Calling?
West Ham United’s interest in Bento is understandable. The Hammers are scouring the market for a goalkeeper, as Mads Hermansen faces an uncertain future at the London Stadium. The Danish goalkeeper has struggled to make his mark since joining West Ham from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.
The Irons are thus ready to part ways with the Dane in the winter transfer window, with several candidates emerging on their wishlist. The Al-Nassr shot-stopper is also a viable target, as he can be a long-term replacement for Lukasz Fabianski and Alphonse Areola. However, West Hm must submit a bid to secure his services after Genoa initiated the move.
The Red and Blues have submitted an initial offer to secure Bento’s services, and they are waiting for Al-Nassr’s response. So, it will be interesting to see if West Ham can usurp Genoa in the battle for the 26-year-old Brazilian international’s signature.
