Maldini Kacurri given thumbs up to leave Arsenal this month

Arsenal could allow Maldini Kacurri another departure, even a permanent one, as he returns from his short-term loan spell from Morecambe.

According to Football Insider, Maldini Kacurri could leave Arsenal, even permanently, as the young defender returns from his loan spell in the National League. The 20-year-old homegrown prospect spent the last six months rather successfully on loan at Morecambe, as the Gunners ponder over the next steps in he defender’s career.

Arsenal have one of the best defensive setups in world football at the moment, with each department in that backline properly stacked with quality players. Hence, there is always the question about some young defensive prospects coming through the academy ranks and whether they can get a fair opportunity to play there.

One of those is Maldini Kacurri, with the 20-year-old homegrown prospect likely to leave the North London club again in this month’s window. The young centre-back was in the first team squad on a few occasions, and played once for the senior team last season in the Carabao Cup win over Bolton Wanderers as a substitute.

Given the strength in depth overall and in the defensive department of the senior side, Kacurri left the team for a six-month loan spell in the summer. The youngster has been rather successful in the National League with Morecambe, where he was named the player of the month on two occasions already this season.

Morecambe wanted to keep hold of him for the remainder of the season, but Arsenal are now eager to improve his levels and probably send him on another loan to one of the clubs in a higher league. There is also the prospect of the club selling him outright, given they may feel the youngster does not have a chance to break into the first team moving ahead.

Arsenal to have an active January?

Arsenal have a well-drilled and deep squad at the moment, which makes it difficult to see them being very active in the January window. While there are question marks over any potential incomings unless there is a massive market opportunity, a few of the fringe stars could potentially leave on loan.

Arsenal are expecting offers for Ethan Nwaneri, with recent reports stating Bournemouth have considered a move as they want a replacement for Antoine Semenyo. Myles Lewis-Skelly is also being mentioned in a few reports over the chance to leave on loan, although Arteta is unlikely to sanction any departure for the young defender, given the player has a big role to play in the second part of the season.
