Aston Villa table €30 million bid to sign Gonzalo Garcia

Real Madrid have a huge decision on their hands as Aston Villa are ready to table a €30 million offer for emerging striker Gonzalo Garcia.

According to Fichajes, Aston Villa are prepared to pay around €30 million to sign Gonzalo Garcia. Real Madrid may have a huge decision on their hands given the anticipation of a sizeable offer from the Premier League sides, particularly after the young striker’s display at the Santiago Bernabeu during the weekend.

Gonzalo Garcia made his presence felt during the Club World Cup, where he scored four goals and provided a single assist. Ahead of the new season under Xabi Alonso, the 21-year-old Real Madrid whizkid was expected to form a key part of the first team for the campaign.

Instead, the manager has not used him widely enough, with the striker starting only two of the 14 games he has played in the league. Most of those appearances have been at the end of games, which has seen the 21-year-old Real Madrid whizkid accumulate only 258 minutes in La Liga.

However, the most recent of those starts came at the weekend, where Gonzalo Garcia scored a memorable hat-trick against Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu. While there have been rumblings of a move away from the club ahead of January, Real Madrid may have to make a big decision on the player’s immediate future.

The Spanish attacker has big suitors from the Premier League, although Leeds United are not thought to be a contender as things stand. Aston Villa are also interested, with Unai Emery pushing to get the Spaniard to the club in the winter window to add to the depth in the striker position.

Aston Villa ready to make a bid for Gonzalo Garcia?

Aston Villa are ready to table an offer in the region of €30 million to sign Garcia, as Emery remains intent on strengthening the centre-forward role moving ahead. The Villans are in multiple competitions, and have to improve their squad depth, as the likes of Newcastle United’s William Osula remain linked, while there are rumours that Aston Villa are keen on an ambitious move for Manchester City’s Omar Marmoush.

Real Madrid have a huge decision on their hands as they are not closing the door on a potential exit for the 21-year-old striker. It remains to be seen whether Aston Villa comes through with an offer of that sort, and should they make one, then there is a chance Gonzalo Garcia might move for regular game time.
