Juventus eyeing January loan move for Federico Chiesa

Juventus are reportedly seriously considering bringing Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa back to the club on loan in January.

Federico Chiesa could be on the move in the upcoming transfer window, amidst interest from Italy. He has been linked with a move to Napoli in the recent past, but according to Gazzetta dello Sport via Sport Witness, Juventus are also interested in him.

It is more than just a suggestion, as the Turin-based outfit are seriously considering adding him to their squad on loan in the upcoming transfer window. Since he doesn’t have an important role under Arne Slot, Chiesa could be tempted to secure a return.

Federico Chiesa was one of the stars at Juventus back in the day, but injuries hampered his progress. He eventually lost his place in the team, and Liverpool ended up signing him in the summer of 2024 in a deal worth just £10 million. The Italian international made the move with hopes of reviving his career.

However, the player ended up having a disastrous debut campaign as he spent the majority of the time on the sidelines and the bench. While he was constantly linked with a move away during the summer transfer window this year, Chiesa decided to stay and fight for his place in the team.

While the Italian international had a few impressive cameos at the start of the campaign, he has not had enough game time under Arne Slot despite having five goal contributions in just 392 minutes of first-team action.

Since he is struggling to get regular minutes, the 28-year-old could look to part ways with the club in the upcoming transfer window. With his contract running until 2028, a lot will depend on Arne Slot’s stance on his future.

Juventus want to re-sign Chiesa

Juventus have emerged as a potential destination for Federico Chiesa. They want to bolster their attack in January, and their manager, Luciano Spalletti, is a massive admirer of the versatile forward, who can feature anywhere in attack. The Old Lady are seriously considering bringing him back on a temporary basis, and the next few weeks could be very important with regards to a potential transfer.

Chiesa is certainly a very tempting option for Juventus, but eventually everything will come down to whether he wants to rejoin them, given how he had left. If he does end up joining the Serie A giants, it will be interesting to see if the loan deal has a buy option/obligation.
