Oscar Bobb may push for Manchester City exit amid Borussia Dortmund links

Borussia Dortmund have received a massive boost in their pursuit of Manchester City attacking sensation, Oscar Bobb.

According to an update by reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Oscar Bobb could end up pushing for a move away from Manchester City in the upcoming transfer window. Borussia Dortmund have emerged as a potential destination for the Norwegian international.

Bobb joined Manchester City in the summer of 2019, and he has gone up the ranks at some pace. He got promoted to their first team in 2023. While he has massive potential and Pep Guardiola rates him very highly, it has been very difficult for the 22-year-old to get regular game time at the Manchester-based club because of the amount of competition in the final third.

So far, the youngster has been involved in 47 matches, and he has contributed towards seven goals. The young right-winger has racked up close to 800 minutes in his 15 outings this term. While Oscar Bobb seems to have a decent role in the team this season, his future has become a big talking point because of Manchester City’s winter transfer plans.

Bobb could push for an exit

Pep Guardiola’s team are quite keen on bolstering their attack by signing in-form Bournemouth mainstay Antoine Semenyo. If they do end up triggering his release clause, it will certainly have a massive impact on Bobb’s game time.

As a result, the 22-year-old could push for a winter exit if City end up signing Semenyo. With his future uncertain, multiple top clubs have already made an approach for the Norwegian winger. Borussia Dortmund are one of the clubs that are keen on his signature.

Oscar Bobb could move to Germany

The Bundesliga giants are constantly on the lookout for young players with massive potential, and Bobb certainly fits the bill. He could fancy a move to the Bundesliga club, given their track record of developing young players and handing him important roles.

His contract at Manchester City runs until the summer of 2029, and given his massive potential, they will be reluctant to lose him. As a result, it will be interesting to see if they look to loan him out or potentially include a buy-back clause in any permanent transfer.
