Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona rival Arsenal in Davide Bartesaghi race

Arsenal to face stiff competition from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona in their pursuit of AC Milan defensive sensation Davide Bartesaghi.

Davide Bartesaghi’s sensational rise at AC Milan hasn’t gone unnoticed. On the back of his impressive performances for the first team, the biggest clubs from across Europe are now keen on signing him.

According to Ekrem Konur, Arsenal, Manchester City, Barcelona and Real Madrid are all interested in acquiring the services of the teenager, who is enjoying a breakthrough season in the Italian top flight.

Bartesaghi has been a part of the Milan setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to their senior team ahead of the ongoing campaign.

While he did feature in a few first-team games last season as well, the teenager has managed to cement his spot in the starting XI this term with his consistent performances.

He has featured in a total of 13 games across competitions and has even contributed towards three goals. His performances have placed him on the wishlist of Arsenal.

European giants could battle it out for Bartesaghi

Mikel Arteta is keen on adding more quality at the back, and they consider Bartesaghi as someone who could become one of their mainstays going forward. While they are eyeing a move for the Italian youth international, the Gunners will have to battle the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Manchester City.

The Catalan giants want someone who can cover as well as compete with Alejandro Balde for a place in the XI, and the Milan graduate is seen as an ideal fit. Meanwhile, Xabi Alonso isn’t pleased with Fran Garcia’s performances, and with Ferland Mendy struggling to stay fit, Bartesaghi could be an ideal cover for Alvaro Carreras.

Meanwhile, Manchester City lack depth on the flanks, and the 19-year-old could be a great investment for the future. While all four clubs are very keen on his signature, they will have to wait until next summer as Milan won’t sanction a mid-season departure. More importantly, they will only let him leave for a fee of around €45 million, which certainly won’t make it easier for interested clubs, as Bartesaghi has limited top-flight experience.
