Leeds United internally discussing El Chadaille Bitshiabu move

Leeds United are reportedly interested in signing El Chadaille Bitshiabu, and they are holding talks over a potential move in the winter transfer window.

El Chadaille Bitshiabu has done quite well for RB Leipzig, and he has proven himself to be a reliable performer in the Bundesliga. According to a report by TEAMtalk, Leeds United are hoping to sign the player and it remains to be seen whether they can get the deal done.

Bitshiabu is a talented player with a bright future, and he has the qualities to do well in the Premier League. Meanwhile, Leeds United need to improve defensively, and it is no surprise that they are keeping tabs on the Frenchman.

The Whites have been quite poor at the back, and they need to tighten up in that area of the pitch. The West Yorkshire outfit have also shown interest in other centre-backs, including Chibuike Nwaiwu.

The 20-year-old French defender has the physicality to adapt to English football, and he could make an immediate impact at Leeds. The opportunity to join the Premier League club could be exciting for El Chadaille Bitshiabu as well.

Leeds United want a defender like Bitshiabu

According to the report, signing a quality defender is top priority for Leeds United heading into 2026. It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a deal with the Bundesliga club for the young man-mountain, who stands at 6ft 5in tall. El Chadaille Bitshiabu could be a long-term prospect for them and help them improve at the back.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are currently lacking depth in the defensive unit as well, and they need more options at their disposal if they want to rotate the team and keep the key players fresh. It remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga giants are willing to sanction the departure of Bitshiabu in the middle of the season.

The player has made just four appearances for RB Leipzig this season, and he will be desperate to play more often. Leaving the club would be ideal for him. Regular football in the Premier League could help him improve and fulfil his potential.

Leeds United will be desperate to stay in the Premier League beyond this season. They need quality additions during the January window, and improving their defence should be their first step. Ideally, they should look to add more quality in the attacking unit as well.

The 2024/25 EFL Championship winners are currently flirting with relegation, and they need to raise their performance levels if they want to compete in the top flight next season.
