Crystal Palace rival West Ham United in Jorgen Strand Larsen race

Crystal Palace are reportedly set to battle West Ham United in pursuit of 25-year-old Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen.

According to Mike McGrath, Crystal Palace and West Ham United are both keen on signing Jorgen Strand Larsen as they look to reinforce their attack in the upcoming transfer window. The Eagles are set to rival the Hammers, who are desperate to add him to Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad as they look to survive the drop.

Strand Larsen made a name for himself at Celta Vigo before joining Wolves in the summer of 2024. While it was an initial loan deal, the move was made permanent last summer on the back of his impressive performances.

In his debut campaign, he was involved in 35 Premier League games and finished with 14 goals and four assists. While he hasn’t had the best of starts to the new season, there is still no shortage of interest in the 25-year-old.

His contract at Wolves runs until the summer of 2030, but there are multiple top clubs that are ready to prise him away. West Ham United are one of the clubs that are keen on his signature.

West Ham keen on Jorgen Strand Larsen

The Hammers have had a disastrous first half of the season. While they expected things to improve following Nuno Espirito Santo’s appointment, things haven’t gone according to plan. Now they are looking at the winter transfer window as an opportunity to reinforce their squad.

The Portuguese manager seeks more firepower in attack, and he wants to bring in a striker who has a strong physical presence and can help them end their struggles in front of goal. They consider Strand Larsen to be an ideal fit for their project and the manager’s system.

The Eagles will rival the Hammers

As a result, they are set to make a move in January, but will face stiff competition from Crystal Palace, who are also firmly in the race to sign the 25-year-old. The Eagles have had a decent season so far, but Oliver Glasner feels another striker could bolster their chances of securing a European spot.

However, signing Strand Larsen won’t be easy for either club as Wolves turned down £55 million from Newcastle United last summer. While they will have to lower their demands if they get relegated, they are unlikely to offer any discounts mid-season.
