West Ham United fail with bid to sign Kaio Jorge

West Ham United have failed with a bid for Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge, with the player not keen on the move ahead of January.

According to Globo Esporte, West Ham United have seen a bid for Kaio Jorge rejected by his club, Cruzeiro. The Hammers are actively looking to recruit in the forward department, as they have failed with a €25 million offer for the Brazilian attacker.

West Ham United are actively looking to recruit in the attacking department, with strikers the big priority for the East Londoners ahead of the January transfer window. Over the last couple of months, the Hammers have seen a host of names linked with a move, but have found little success in convincing any of those, as things stand.

Union Saint-Gilloise star Promise David does not want to join them, as per a report, while they have failed with a past approach for Real Madrid star Endrick. AC Milan’s Santiago Gimenez was linked, while Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee is also a player on their radar.

AS Roma star Artem Dovbyk was reportedly offered, while there is also interest in several other names, as Niclas Fullkrug could be heading out of the London Stadium. Meanwhile, Cruzeiro striker Kaio Jorge is also a target for the Hammers, but they do face competition for the Brazilian striker, who contributed to 35 goals in the 2025 season.

Jorge also has Aston Villa’s interest, but it is the Hammers who have shown signs of advancing in the race for the former Juventus striker. West Ham were being linked with Jorge since late in the summer window, but now they are targeting a move for the prolific attacker.

Did West Ham fail in Kaio Jorge bid?

Cruzeiro have rejected a €25 million bid from West Ham United, which was a loan offer with a buy obligation attached to it based on the striker reaching performance-related targets. The loan itself consisted of a €4 million fee with the €21 million part of the buy obligation side.

Kaio Jorge has no interest in leaving Cruzeiro at this moment as he is eager to participate in the Copa Libertadores next year. He also feels that staying at his current club would give him a better chance of being part of Carlo Ancelotti’s Brazilian squad for the World Cup, as a move to West Ham is near impossible at this point, especially as Cruzeiro does not want to sell him for the €25 million fee quoted.
