Aston Villa set to keep Jadon Sancho for the rest of the season amid Borussia Dortmund, AS Monaco, Como links

AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, and Como have suffered a blow in their pursuit of Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho.

Jadon Sancho’s future has once again become a big talking point. The Manchester United winger, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa, has been constantly linked with a move away in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Despite his struggles at Villa Park, Unai Emery’s team insist that he will finish the season with them, as per a report from TEAMtalk. While intermediaries are looking at options elsewhere, Sancho won’t be allowed to terminate his loan deal mid-season. It is a massive blow for AS Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, and Como, who seem keen on his signature.

After making a name for himself at Borussia Dortmund, Jadon Sancho made the move to Manchester United in the summer of 2021. While the Red Devils had a lot of expectations from the English international, the move did not work out for him.

After his relationship with the club and then manager Erik ten Hag broke down, he has had multiple loan spells away from the club. While Manchester United were ready to offload him on a permanent basis, they could not find a buyer. Eventually, the Englishman ended up joining Aston Villa on a season-long loan.

The move to Villa Park has not really worked out for him, as he is yet to contribute towards a goal in 529 minutes of first-team action spread across 13 outings. Since Sancho’s loan move is not going according to plan, he has been linked with a move away ahead of the winter transfer window.

Sancho to continue at Aston Villa despite exit links

Manchester United have no intentions of recalling Jadon Sancho, and as reports, there is not an option to terminate the deal mid-season. However, if an interested club wants to sign him, that could work out, as he has only played for one club this season.

Como, AS Monaco, and Borussia Dortmund have emerged as potential destinations. The German giants are willing to offer him another chance to revive himself. Given the kind of success he has previously enjoyed at the club, they are ready to bet on him against all odds.

Meanwhile, Como, who have only gone from strength to strength under Cesc Fabregas, seek more quality in the final third and feel Sancho could help their cause. Even AS Monaco want more firepower and believe a move to France could help the English winger get back to his best. Intermediaries have held talks with all interested clubs.

However, all three clubs have suffered a blow, as Aston Villa insist that he will continue at Villa Park until the end of the season. Emery wants to try and get the best out of him in 2026. Despite his struggles, the Spanish manager has continued to back him publicly, which suggests he still counts on the 25-year-old.
