Arsenal plotting move for Diant Ramaj

Arsenal are plotting a raid on German giants Borussia Dortmund for the signature of goalkeeper Diant Ramaj.

Diant Ramaj’s impressive performances for Heidenheim have caught the eyes of Arsenal, who recently sent scouts to watch the German shot-stopper in action. According to Christian Falk via Sport BILD, the Gunners are interested in acquiring his services, as they consider him an ideal fit to be a long-term replacement for either David Raya or Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Ramaj’s impressive performances earned him a move to Borussia Dortmund at the start of 2025. While he spent the second half of last season on loan at Copenhagen, he is currently on loan at Heidenheim for the 2025/26 season.

He has been involved in a total of 16 matches and has conceded 31 goals. While he has only managed to keep one clean sheet, a lot of it is down to the fact that he doesn’t really have the best of defence protecting him. His overall performances have been quite impressive, which is why multiple top clubs have been keeping tabs on him.

Arsenal have their eyes set on Ramaj

The 24-year-old goalkeeper finds himself on Arsenal’s transfer list. The North London club are keeping a close eye on the Dortmund shot-stopper ahead of a potential transfer.

Their scouts have been spotted in the stands on multiple occasions, which suggests their interest in him is quite concrete. They have recently sent officials to watch him in particular, as they consider him an ideal fit to be David Raya’s backup for now. He even has the potential to eventually replace him as their number one.

While Kepa Arrizabalaga is currently playing the backup role, the former Chelsea keeper is 31, while Raya is also 30. As a result, Arsenal are planning for the long run and want to bring Ramaj to North London.

While his contract at Dortmund runs until the summer of 2029, they could consider parting ways with him for the right price. Having spent just €5 million to sign him at the start of the year, this could be a great opportunity for the German club to make a significant profit.
