Newcastle United will reportedly look to sign 21-year-old Dutch midfield sensation Luciano Valente from Eredivisie club Feyenoord next year.
According to a report by the Daily Mail, Luciano Valente is the subject of interest from Newcastle United. The Magpies are eager to bolster their first-team squad by signing a versatile midfielder in the next two transfer windows. So, the 21-year-old Feyenoord prospect has emerged as a target for the Tyneside club.
Who is Luciano Valente?
Luciano Valente has established himself as one of the best young prospects in his homeland since joining Feyenoord from FC Groningen this past summer. A native of Groningen, the Dutch midfield sensation spent his formative years in his homeland, starting his youth career with GVAV-Rapiditas before graduating from FC Groningen’s academy.
The 21-year-old spent over a decade with FC Groningen before joining Feyenoord a few months ago. The youngster has taken no time to land on his feet at the Eredivisie club, and he has already amassed over 1,500 minutes of game time across 25 appearances in all competitions thus far.
Valente has also been a handy contributor in the final third, scoring two goals and providing five assists in his 25 outings thus far for the Eredivisie title hopefuls. Meanwhile, the Dutchman’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs. Newcastle United will be among the prospective suitors vying for his signature next year.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Newcastle United’s interest in Luciano Valente is understandable. The Magpies are scouring the market for a versatile midfielder heading into the winter transfer window, as Joe Willock faces an uncertain future at St. James’ Park. Newcastle United will likely entertain bids to part ways with the English midfielder in the coming weeks.
So, the Tyneside outfit will likely dip into the market for a midfielder in the winter transfer window, with Valente emerging as a viable target. However, several other midfielders are on Newcastle United’s wishlist, as apart from the 21-year-old Dutchman, they are also interested in Lamine Camara, Kees Smit, and Kevin Danois.
Meanwhile, it is unclear if Newcastle United will have the funds to sign a promising midfielder in the winter transfer window. It will also be interesting to see if Feyenoord will be open to cashing in on the Dutch midfielder in the middle of an Eredivisie title charge.
