Manchester United, Tottenham ready to pay €30-40 million for Said El Mala, contact made

Manchester United and Tottenham are ready to fork out €30-40 million to sign FC Koln attacking sensation Said El Mala.

Said El Mala’s sensational rise hasn’t gone unnoticed. Clubs from across Europe are keen on signing the German youth international, who has only gone from strength to strength over the last 18 months.

According to a report from BILD, Manchester United and Tottenham are the latest clubs to enter the race for his signature. Both Premier League giants are very keen on his signature, and they are ready to fork out €30-40 million to sign the 19-year-old winger.

El Mala got promoted to FC Koln’s first team in the summer of 2024, but he spent the 2024/25 season out on loan at Viktoria Koln. Following his impressive loan spell, they finally integrated him into their first team this season.

The teenager has already made quite a mark with his impressive performances. In his 14 league outings, he has six goals and three assists. His work hasn’t gone unnoticed, and the biggest clubs from across Europe have him on their wishlist.

El Mala has already ruled out a winter move; as a result, interested clubs will have to wait until next summer to get their hands on him. While clubs from across Europe want him, he could be heading to the Premier League, where Tottenham and Manchester United seem to be quite serious about their pursuit.

Premier League giants make move for El Mala

Both clubs have already made an approach for the 19-year-old. Koln are aware of the increasing interest and would be looking to raise around €50-60 million or more from his potential departure next summer.

The German club have already received their first concrete enquiry from the English giants. They have asked the Bundesliga outfit about their willingness to negotiate, and are already willing to offer €30-40 million. With initial offers likely to be in that range, there are chances of the final price being closer to Koln’s demands.

Given the number of forwards United have parted ways with in the recent past, they do need more quality on the flanks, and El Mala could be a great acquisition for the long run. Meanwhile, Spurs have been targeting young players with massive potential in recent windows, and the 19-year-old is certainly an ideal fit for their project.
