Manchester United, Newcastle United, Tottenham in talks to sign Ruben Neves

Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham are making moves to bring Ruben Neves back to the Premier League.

Former Wolves star Ruben Neves seems set for a return to the English top flight, as Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham are all keen on his signature. According to a report from TEAMtalk, all three Premier League giants are in talks to sign the Portuguese international in the upcoming winter transfer window.

Neves made quite a name for himself while playing for Wolves. Clubs from across Europe were keen on signing the FC Porto graduate back in 2023, but to everyone’s surprise, he ended up moving to the Middle East to join Al-Hilal.

The 28-year-old has been one of the standout performers for the Saudi giants. However, his future has become a big talking point as his contract runs out at the end of the season, and Al-Hilal are struggling to tie him down to a new deal.

Since they could lose out on him for free in just over six months, the Saudi Pro League club are reportedly open to negotiating his departure in the upcoming transfer window. He could be heading back to England, as Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham have all held talks with intermediaries about a potential transfer.

Premier League trio are keen on signing Neves

Ruben Amorim seeks more quality in midfield amidst uncertainty around Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo’s future, Neves could be just the perfect signing for them. Newcastle are also looking to strengthen their midfield rotation by signing the Portuguese international.

Meanwhile, Thomas Frank isn’t pleased with his midfield options, and he would absolutely love to have some with Neves’ experience in his ranks. Neves is open to a return to Europe and is considering his options.

All three Premier League clubs can certainly afford to strike a deal with Al-Hilal, but for the move to go through, the player will have to take a significant pay cut, as they are unlikely to offer him similar wages to what he earns in the Middle East.
