Crystal Palace ponder summer bid for Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha

Crystal Palace will reportedly look to sign 19-year-old Brazilian attacking sensation Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha from Vasco da Gama next summer.

According to an update by Turkish journalist Ekrem Konur, Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha is the subject of interest from Crystal Palace. The Eagles are keen on reinforcing their offensive unit by signing a versatile attacker next summer. So, the 19-year-old Vasco da Gama wonderkid has emerged as a target for the South London outfit.

The 2024/25 FA Cup winners have already opened talks to sign the Rio de Janeiro prodigy, and they are “evaluating an official bid” to secure his services next summer. However, Crystal Palace will face stiff competition from FC Porto for his signature, while an unnamed club recently made a verbal offer worth €25 million to land him.

Who is Rayan?

Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha has established himself as one of the most promising young attackers in his homeland since breaking into the first-team squad at Vasco da Gama. The teenage prospect has spent his formative years thus far with Vasco da Gama, joining them as a six-year-old in 2012. The 19-year-old progressed through the ranks at the club before making his senior bow.

The Brazilian wonderkid debuted for Vasco da Gama in 2023, and he has seen his stock soar in the last two years. The player has been impressive this season, amassing 20 goals and one assist in 46 outings. Meanwhile, the youngster’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several Premier League bigwigs, with Crystal Palace among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.

London calling?

Crystal Palace’s interest in Rayan Vitor Simplicio Rocha is understandable. The Eagles are scouring the market for a versatile attacker, as Eberechi Eze has left a gaping hole in the offensive unit since joining Arsenal in the summer transfer window. While Yeremy Pino has been solid since arriving from Villarreal, Christantus Uche has failed to make his mark.

Several candidates, including Christos Tzolis, have thus emerged on Crystal Palace’s wishlist, with Rayan also a viable target. The 2024/25 FA Cup winners have already opened talks to sign the promising South American attacker, and they are considering a bid for next summer.

However, Crystal Palace will face stiff competition from FC Porto for his signature, while an unnamed club recently made a verbal offer worth €25 million to land him. Meanwhile, many European bigwigs are also keen on signing him. So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 19-year-old Brazilian wonderkid.
