Manchester United open talks to sign Christ Inao Oulai

Manchester United have reached out to Christ Inao Oulai’s camp, as a battle for the Trabzonspor star brews, with Manchester City also interested.

According to Team Talk, Christ Inao Oulai is fast emerging to be a big target for the Manchester clubs, with the rivals set for a battle ahead of the January window. While Manchester City remain linked with the Ivorian, Manchester United are the ones who have reached out to the player’s camp with a view to exploring a move for the Trabzonspor midfielder.

Christ Inao Oulai has made a big mark with his performances for Trabzonspor following his summer move from Bastia in France. The Ivorian midfielder is now one of the fast-emerging names on the list of some of the top clubs, especially those in the Premier League.

Manchester United and Manchester City are interested, as he could be seen as a big part of the future of either team. His profile has plenty of traits that would suit a top-notch Premier League side, for the present as well as the future, as there may be a case that those teams could consider investing in.

Manchester City are looking at him with a view to signing him as Pep Guardiola wants a backup for the injury-riddled Rodri Hernandez. Hence, they might be open to the idea of exploring a move ahead of January, with Trabzonspor valuing him at around €40 million in the current market.

Manchester United are the ones who have made the first move by reaching out to the player’s camp. Ruben Amorim wants a new midfielder in the team, given Casemiro’s time at the club is coming to an end, while Kobbie Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte are also in with a chance to depart. The profile of Oulai could suit them in the present and future, although the price point of the 19-year-old African midfield prodigy could be an issue.

Manchester United to sign a new midfielder in January?

Manchester United are actively looking at a few midfield targets, as the likes of Elliot Anderson, Adam Wharton or Carlos Baleba may not move in January. Hence, alternative options like Tyler Adams is a new target, while Conor Gallagher was also mentioned of late with a move in the winter window.

RC Lens’ high-flying midfielder Mamadou Sangare is also a name they are considering, although any move from Manchester United for either of those names, including the 19-year-old African midfield prodigy Oulai, will depend on the price point. As for Manchester City, they may not have the cost problem with regard to signing a new midfielder, which could give them an edge in the race for the Trabzonspor midfielder.
