AC Milan set to step up interest in Niclas Fullkrug, new contacts soon

AC Milan are ready to step up their interest in Niclas Fullkrug, with the German striker’s time in London expected to end in January.

According to Matteo Moreto, AC Milan are ready to accelerate their chase of Niclas Fullkrug, with the German forward’s time in London about to end. The Rossoneri are seemingly ready to dispense off with their striker Santiago Gimenez, who is incidentally linked with the Hammers among other teams.

Some of the clubs across England and Europe will be alert to the possibility of a striker signing. West Ham United, for instance, are clearly targeting a new centre-forward to refresh the ranks and bring in a new option that would potentially solve their goalscoring problem.

The Hammers are ready to sell Niclas Fullkrug if their conditions are met, even if it is a loan deal, while they are targeting many names in the market. Norwich City’s Josh Sargent was the latest to be linked with a move to the London Stadium, while there are many others on their list.

AC Milan forward Santiago Gimenez was also offered to the Hammers, as the Rossoneri are ready to part ways with the Mexican, as they are incidentally targeting a move for Fullkrug. The Italian giants are seeking the West Ham forward, and now they are ready to accelerate the chase.

Fresh talks are being planned with the East London club to get a deal in place for the German, who cost West Ham £27 million from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2024. Niclas Fullkrug has not worked amid a loss of form and persistent injury issues, which may have brought his price down considerably over the last 18 months.

Is Niclas Fullkrug ideal for AC Milan?

West Ham reportedly considered a swap deal with AC Milan involving Fullkrug and Gimenez. Whether that is in the thinking of both clubs remains to be seen, although the West Ham misfit is certainly a player that Massimiliano Allegri would like in his system.

AC Milan tends to play with two strikers up top under Allegri, and given that being the order, Niclas Fullkrug might be a perfect fit. The physicality of the German and the style of football in Serie A would suit the £27 million West Ham misfit, and he could be the ideal man to lead the line for the Rossoneri.
