Manchester United are reportedly prepared to consider offers for Bruno Fernandes as Al-Hilal’s interest resurfaces ahead of January.
According to Fichajes, Manchester United could reportedly open their doors to selling Bruno Fernandes ahead of the January window. The report of the alleged decision from the Red Devils comes right after stories of the club’s debts were seen on social media, as well as Al-Hilal’s interest resurfacing in the Portuguese international.
Bruno Fernandes did have the chance to leave Manchester United at a time when the club were at their lowest moment, that is, after the Europa League final loss to Spurs. There were talk of the club losing out on key revenue due to their failure to land Champions League football, and that they might have to sell a few of their key stars to balance the books.
The Portuguese international did have interest from Al-Hilal, who were pushing for a move to include Ferandes in their Club World Cup squad. Despite reportedly making a huge offer to Manchester United as well as proposing a massive salary package to the midfielder. Fernandes chose to stay put rather than move to the Middle East at that moment.
The interest has not gone away, as Al-Hilal are once again pushing for a move and prepared to offer €80 million, although Fernandes had reiterated his desire to stay put. As things stand, fresh stories have indicated that Manchester United may have reportedly opened their doors to selling Fernandes ahead of the January window.
The reports have come about after some social media accounts posted about Manchester United’s increasing debt, which may now see them sell a few key stars. Fernandes remains a mainstay, and recent reports concluded he is not considering a January exit despite the story claiming otherwise.
Will Bruno Fernandes leave Manchester United?
Despite the resurfaced interest from Al-Hilal, Fernandes may not have the intention to leave Manchester United, while selling the skipper in mid-season will be a mistake. The Red Devils are angling for a return to the Champions League, and their captain is one of the main factors for the push towards a top-four finish, meaning he’s more important than anyone else in their squad.
However, that does not rule out the fact that Fernandes might be open to a future move to Saudi football, as this year he remains focused on his task with Manchester United ahead of the World Cup. Hence, there’s a probability, Fernandes might think about a future move to the Middle East, possibly even next summer.
