West Ham United in transfer tussle to sign Andrea Pinamonti

West Ham United will reportedly look to sign 26-year-old Italian striker Andrea Pinamonti from Serie A club Sassuolo next year.

According to a report by Italian outlet Calciomercato, Andrea Pinamonti is the subject of interest from West Ham United. The Hammers are eager to bolster their offensive unit by signing a striker next year. So, the 26-year-old Sassuolo centre-forward has emerged as a target for the East London outfit.

West Ham will not be alone in the battle for Pinamonti’s signature, as AC Milan and Lazio are also keen on securing his services. Meanwhile, the Cles-born attacker is likely to end his association with Sassuolo by embarking on a new adventure next year, either in January or the summer.

Andrea Pinamonti and his career so far

Andrea Pinamonti has endured a topsy-turvy ride since joining Sassuolo from Inter Milan. The Cles native spent his formative years in Italy and graduated from the youth division at Inter Milan. However, the 26-year-old has risen in prominence during his spell with Sassuolo, making considerable progress in the last four years.

The Italian international spent the 2024/25 season on loan with Genoa before returning to Sassuolo this term. Pinamonti has scored four goals and one assist in 14 Serie A appearances thus far, playing his part in the club’s rise into the top half of the table. Meanwhile, the player’s progress has not gone unnoticed, capturing the attention of several well-known clubs, including West Ham United.

London calling?

West Ham United mulled over signing Andrea Pinamonti in the summer transfer window, but the deal did not materialise. The continued interest is understandable, as Niclas Fullkrug is eager to embark on a new adventure after struggling throughout his spell with West Ham United. Additionally, Callum Wilson is on the wrong side of 30 and not reliable enough to last an entire season.

Several candidates, including Clayton, have thus emerged on West Ham’s wishlist, with Pinamonti also a viable target. However, the Hammers are not alone in the battle for the Sassuolo striker’s signature, as Serie A clubs AC Milan and Lazio are also vying for his services.

Meanwhile, the report has revealed that Pinamonti will likely leave Sassuolo to embark on a new adventure next year. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for the 26-year-old Italian striker amid his links with West Ham and Serie A clubs.
