Newcastle United have entered the race for Javi Guerra as Eddie Howe is keen to recruit a young midfielder in the January window.
According the Eldes Marque, Javi Guerra is a potential target for Newcastle United ahead of the January window. Eddie Howe wants to recruit a young midfielder for the present and future, as the Valencia star has been added to a rather comprehensive list of targets.
Javi Guerra’s future will be a topic of discussion once again at Valencia when the January window opens. The midfielder was the subject of leaving the Spanish side back in the summer, but the La Liga strugglers managed to renew his deal until 2029, thus preventing a situation they had with Cristhian Mosquera, who has since joined Arsenal.
Arsenal are one of those interested in Guerra ahead of the January window, as Mikel Arteta continues to look to add a new midfielder to his ranks. Manchester United are also among those vying for Guerra, as the Spanish midfield sensation could have a few good offers on his table.
Newcastle United are the latest to enter the race, as Eddie Howe seeks a young midfielder in his ranks in January. The Magpies boss has a formidable midfield setup at the moment, and would be open to adding another name to the mix to add to the squad depth.
Someone like Guerra would be a good addition; he allows the club to develop him for the future. Valencia are thought ot be holding out for €25 million at the very least, which might sound reasonable enough for Newcastle United given the Spanish star’s immense experience at the top level at a very young age.
Are there other names on Newcastle United’s midfield shortlist?
Guerra might be a good enough option, but he’s certainly not alone on Newcastle United’s shortlist. AZ Alkmaar’s Kees Smit is a target, with the player very similar to the €25 million-rated midfield sensation from Valencia.
Monaco’s Lamine Camara is also on their list, as their shortlist looks rather comprehensive ahead og Janaury. Much about their final choice might depend on factors such as finances, as well as which player suits their cause better, as Guerra is certainly a big target for the Magpies in that regard.
