Liverpool will reportedly look to sign 24-year-old Ivory Coast international Wilfried Singo from Galatasaray in a deal worth €28 million.
According to a report by Turkish outlet Fotomac, Wilfried Singo is the subject of interest of Liverpool. The Reds are eager to reinforce their defensive unit by signing a right-back next year. So, the 24-year-old Galatasaray full-back has emerged as a target for the Merseyside outfit.
The latest report has revealed that the Premier League champions are ready to test Galatasaray’s resolve by submitting a bid worth €28 million to secure Singo’s services. Liverpool will also offer €10-15 million in add-ons to sweeten the deal.
How has Wilfried Singo fared at Galatasaray?
Wilfried Singo has made gradual progress since joining Galatasaray from AS Monaco this past summer. A native of Grand-Bereby, he spent most of his formative years in the Ivory Coast before rising in prominence during his spell with Torino. The 24-year-old was also impressive during his two-year stint with AS Monaco.
However, Singo has been in and out of the starting lineup since joining Galatasaray, and a hamstring injury has also held him back. The Ivory Coast international has chipped in with one assist in ten appearances thus far for Galatasaray. However, Singo’s stock in the market is high, with Liverpool among the prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Premier League move on the horizon?
Liverpool’s interest in Wilfried Singo is baffling. Arne Slot has two right-backs in his squad, with Conor Bradley and Jeremie Frimpong being top-class options for the position. Additionally, the Liverpool manager has versatile footballers who can play on the right flank, with Joe Gomez and Dominik Szoboszlai making their mark as makeshift right-backs.
So, it is unclear how Singo fits into the scheme of things if he joins Liverpool in the coming months. Nevertheless, the Premier League champions are ready to launch an offensive to sign the 24-year-old Ivorian by submitting a bid worth €28 million to Galatasaray.
Liverpool will also attempt to sweeten the deal by offering add-ons worth €10-15 million. However, it is unclear if Galatasaray will be ready to cash in on Singo less than a year after signing the Ivory Coast international from AS Monaco.
